Refund Policy — MasterProse

All purchases made through MasterProse are final and non-refundable. Please read this policy in full before completing any purchase or subscription.

Our Refund Policy

MasterProse provides AI-powered creative writing services that consume computing resources and third-party API credits immediately upon use. For this reason, all sales — including subscription fees and per-book purchases — are final and non-refundable.

By completing a purchase, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to this policy.

No Refunds Will Be Issued For

Dissatisfaction with AI output quality — AI-generated prose, illustrations, and translations vary in quality. The free tier exists so you can evaluate the service before purchasing.
Unused subscription time — If you cancel a monthly subscription mid-period, you retain access until the end of the billing cycle but will not receive a pro-rated refund for the remaining time.
Automatic subscription renewals — It is your responsibility to cancel before your renewal date if you no longer wish to be charged. Renewal charges are not refundable.
Accidental purchases — We strongly recommend using the free tier before upgrading. Accidentally completing a purchase does not qualify for a refund.
Change of mind — Deciding you no longer want the service after purchase does not qualify for a refund.
Partial or non-use of subscription — Purchasing a subscription and not using it fully does not entitle you to a refund.
Account termination for policy violations — If your account is terminated for violating our Terms of Service, no refund will be issued.

Limited Exception — Service Outage

When We May Provide Relief

The sole exception to our no-refund policy is a verified technical failure on our part that prevents you from accessing any paid features of your subscription for a continuous period exceeding 7 days.

In this case, we may, at our sole discretion, provide one of the following:

A credit to your account equal to the pro-rated value of the outage period
An extension of your subscription period by the duration of the outage

Partial slowdowns, degraded performance of third-party AI providers, or individual feature unavailability do not qualify for relief under this exception.

To request review under this exception, contact us at support@masterprose.com within 14 days of the outage being resolved, with a description of the issue and your account email.

Chargebacks & Disputes

Filing a chargeback with your bank or credit card company without first contacting us is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in the immediate and permanent suspension of your account and any associated accounts.

If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us at support@masterprose.com before initiating a chargeback. We are happy to investigate and discuss billing questions.

How to Cancel Your Subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. After cancellation:

Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
You will not be charged for the next billing cycle
You will not receive a refund for the remaining time in your current billing period
Your writing projects remain accessible in read-only mode for 30 days after your subscription ends

Tip: Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to ensure the cancellation is processed before the next charge.

We strongly encourage you to use the free tier to evaluate MasterProse before purchasing a paid plan. The free tier allows you to:

Generate AI prose for up to 3 chapters
Create up to 5 AI illustrations
Use the full editor and in-app preview

This is specifically designed to help you make an informed purchase decision. If you are unsatisfied with the free tier, we recommend not upgrading rather than purchasing and requesting a refund.
